Hopes & Fears

I just went through students' hopes and fears for the course. Two big realizations:

1. Most of these involve me as the instructor. No pressure!
2. It might make sense for me to share my own hopes and fears for the course. I always have concerns when teaching such an emotionally fraught subject area--and many of these concerns are support by research. I think I'll unpack that today.

Other than that, it was fun to meet my students, get to know them through their intersections of identity, and get started. I'm excited about another semester!
